WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND), member of the Senate Armed Service Committee (SASC), joined Elizabeth MacDonald on Fox Business’ The Evening Edit to discuss Hamas terrorists blocking civilians from escaping, the Robert Malley investigation, and inflicting more sanctions on Iran - the lead sponsor of terrorism.
On Palestinians Escaping Gaza:
“This is the challenge, particularly for the United States of America, who should be in the leadership role of negotiating these things. You need to hold people accountable, and that's one of the problems we're having. You have a weak president whose weakness actually has invited some of this activity. Granted he's saying some of the right things now, but he needs to get allies together, and hold every nation accountable, and start negotiating some sort of a humanitarian way out for some of these Palestinian folks who should feel more comfortable going into Egypt rather than coming back into Israel. This is not complicated.”
On the Robert Malley (former Special Envoy for Iran since January 2021) Investigation:
“This is a guy who goes back to the Clinton administration. This is somebody who helped create the Iran Nuclear Deal. This is somebody who now has been evidently caught or at least suspected of mishandling classified documents and had three assistants, three aides with very close ties to all this mess. This is really, really bad. What strikes me is, what were the conditions under which he was hired by the Obama administration, by the Clinton administration? How does he even get to this point without better scrutiny? Right now, Congress has to step in and be part of the scrutiny, not just an inside deal.”
On Sanctioning Iranian Oil Production:
“Remember, this is an administration that hates American oil production so much that they've actually sought oil from our enemies. They've unleashed Venezuela for crying out loud. They’ve relieved sanctions on Iran, allowing them to sell around the world. Then they just look the other way when it comes to things like China buying a lot of this oil from Iran, under the table shipping with this ghost armada. […] This is what requires major leadership from our president to amass the G7 nations and other allies and make sure you know who your friends are and who your adversaries are and get the collective economic might of G7 and other allies, so we aren't going at this alone and our adversaries know there are serious consequences.”
