BISMARCK, N.D. – The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) announced awards totaling $9,444,315 to Bismarck, Fargo, Grand Forks, Minot, and the state of North Dakota.
The funding will be distributed through the following programs:
The Community Development Block Grant Program provides annual grants on a formula basis to states, cities, and counties to develop viable urban communities by providing decent housing and a suitable living environment, and by expanding economic opportunities, for low- and moderate-income persons.
The Emergency Solutions Grant Program is designed to assist people with quickly regaining stability in permanent housing after experiencing a housing crisis and/or homelessness.
The HOME Investment Partnerships Program provides formula grants to states and localities to be used in partnership with local nonprofit groups to fund a wide range of activities including building, buying, rehabilitating affordable housing for rent or homeownership or providing direct rental assistance to low-income people.
