WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND), a Senate Armed Services Committee member, joined S&P Global Platts podcast “Capitol Crude” last night to discuss his Protecting Our Well-being by Expanding Russian Sanctions (POWERS) Act, legislation he introduced last week to expand sanctions against Russia and reinstate sanctions the Biden Administration is waiving on Russian people and entities involved in the construction of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline.
“It’s the official position of the United States government that Nord Stream 2 not be completed. The idea that the Biden Administration would give the green light by giving the sanctions is peculiar, especially when they state that it’s still the position of the United States government that Nord Stream 2 not be completed,” said Senator Cramer.
