WASHINGTON — U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND) met with U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) Secretary Alexander Acosta yesterday and invited him to North Dakota. After the meeting, Senator Cramer issued the following statement:
“I met with DOL Secretary Acosta to discuss several administration priorities, including apprenticeships. President Trump ordered DOL to promote apprenticeship programs, which are important to North Dakota. Apprenticeships help bridge the divide between North Dakota’s workforce demand and workforce supply.
"I’m grateful for the opportunity to meet with Secretary Acosta. Afterward, I formally invited the Secretary to North Dakota to meet with educators, tribal leaders, and workforce trainers.”
This is the first time Senator Cramer has met with Secretary Acosta, who has been running the Department of Labor since 2017. As a member of the Senate Budget Committee, Senator Cramer has broad oversight over many departments, including DOL.
