WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND), after the Senate’s passage of the Military Construction, Veterans Affairs and Related Agencies Appropriations Act by a vote of 82-15, applauded language benefitting Camp Grafton. Senator Cramer voted in favor of the legislation.

“In this year’s National Defense Authorization Act, I secured the authorization needed to improve unaccompanied housing at Camp Grafton,” said Senator Cramer. “Our military must train and equip the next generation of armed forces, but they need the resources and proper housing to do so. This win for North Dakota is included in the appropriations package. I encourage my colleagues in the House to pass this bill to ensure North Dakota receives the support it needs to continue spurring innovation.”

The Military Construction, Veterans Affairs and Related Agencies Appropriations Act for Fiscal Year (FY) 2024 appropriates money for “Military Construction, Army National Guard” to be obligated to carry out construction and cost to complete projects subject to authorization. This money can be used for the following project at Camp Grafton:

  • $2 million in planning and design funding for unaccompanied housing at Camp Grafton.

The Camp Grafton Institutional Post-Initial Military Training, Unaccompanied Housing project is authorized in the Senate passed version of the FY24 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) that Senator Cramer helped pass in his role on the Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC).
