WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND), after the Senate’s passage of the Military Construction, Veterans Affairs and Related Agencies Appropriations Act by a vote of 82-15, applauded language benefitting the North Dakota Army National Guard Readiness Center in Dickinson, North Dakota. Senator Cramer voted in favor of the legislation.

“It’s always a great day to see North Dakota projects I’ve championed get funded. As a member on the Senate Armed Services Committee, I worked to authorize funding for the Dickinson National Guard Readiness Center in this year’s National Defense Authorization Act. The Readiness Center’s inclusion in this appropriations package is a hard-fought win for North Dakota and a win for our National Guard. It’s proof of the good things we can secure for our state when our delegation works together,” said Senator Cramer.

The Military Construction, Veterans Affairs and Related Agencies Appropriations Act for Fiscal Year (FY) 2024 appropriates money for “Military Construction, Army National Guard” to be obligated to carry out construction and cost to complete projects subject to authorization. This money can be used for the following cost to complete project in Dickinson:

  • More than $5.4 million to support the construction of the National Guard Readiness Center

In August, Senator Cramer participated in the groundbreaking of the North Dakota Army National Guard Readiness Center. The new facility will support the training and operations of the 816th Military Police Company, which was activated on September 1, 2017. The Dickinson National Guard Readiness Center cost to complete is authorized in the Senate passed version of the FY24 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which Senator Cramer helped pass in his role on the Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC).
