WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator and Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC) member Kevin Cramer (R-ND) helped advance the nomination of Barbara Barrett to be U.S. Air Force Secretary, voting to move her nomination through SASC and onto the Senate floor.
“With today being the Air Force’s 72nd birthday, moving Barrett’s nomination forward gives us not only the chance to appreciate the progress we’ve made, but also the opportunity to advance a vision for the future of this military branch,” said Senator Cramer. “A former business leader, U.S. Ambassador, Defense Secretary advisor, and accomplished instrument-rated pilot, Barrett comes equipped with excellent qualifications. I thank her for her service, and I look forward to working with her when she is confirmed on our shared priorities, including North Dakota’s Air Force and Air Guard assets, Space Force, UAS, and the Arctic Mission.”
Senator Cramer commemorated the Air Force’s birthday earlier today. He met with Barrett earlier this month to discuss her nomination.
