WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND) issued the following statement on the passing of Al Palmer of Grand Forks Tuesday night. A retired Brigadier General, Palmer began his military career with the Air Force, enlisting in 1972. He is a former chief of staff of the North Dakota Air National Guard, and spent 30 years with the UND John D. Odegard School of Aerospace Sciences as director of flight operations.

“Al Palmer dedicated his career to the military, aviation, and supporting veterans. He was a member of my Military Academy and Veterans Advisory Boards, always providing valued advice. I am forever thankful for his service to our nation in the U.S. Air Force and North Dakota Air National Guard, as well as his support of the UND Aerospace program. Al was a wise and compassionate man and a great friend. His family and friends are in our prayers.”
