WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND), a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC), issued the following statement after joining all 13 Republican members of the committee in voting to reject the confirmation of Colin Kahl to serve as Under Secretary of Defense for Policy:
“Dr. Kahl has made several incorrect and polarizing statements on foreign policy that could limit his ability to effectively serve as the Defense Department’s policy chief and build the coalition he needs to be successful, said Sen. Cramer. The Pentagon enjoys broad bipartisan support, and its leadership should reflect that.”
