WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND), a Senate Budget Committee member, joined Washington Watch with Tony Perkins yesterday to discuss the Democrats’ $1.9 trillion spending bill the Senate is expected to begin considering today, media coverage of President Biden, and the Administration’s approach to China, a conversation based off of the senator’s comments at a recent Senate Armed Services Committee hearing. Below are excerpts and a link to the full interview.

On Democrats’ Spending Bill:

“There was bipartisan opposition in the House. A couple of House Democrats voted against for the same reason Republicans did, and that is that they know what’s in it.

“This is a really bad deal for the American people.”

On the Media’s Coverage of President Biden:

“The fact is [the media doesn’t] hold [President Biden] accountable for any of the things he said while he was running for President that he is now not doing such as transparency, such as reaching across the aisle, such as being a moderate leader, such as holding up things like energy development. … You would think at the very least, [the media] would hold [President Joe Biden] accountable for the campaign promises he’s already not keeping.”

On President Biden’s Approach to China:

“China has been found out by a lot more people, particularly Europeans and Americans, and we have an Administration coming in that is very pro-China that suddenly has to deal with some realities … We claim, and rightfully so, that [China] is our #1 adversary militarily, politically, and economically, and yet they get treated as a ‘developing nation’ while we are a ‘developed nation.’ That has a lot of ramifications on international affairs as we know it.”
