BISMARCK – U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND) issued the following statement on U.S. District Court Judge Dan Traynor’s ruling denying all but one of the United States Department of Justice’s (DOJ) motions to dismiss North Dakota’s lawsuit seeking damages from the federal government as a result of the Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL) protests:

“Judge Traynor’s thorough ruling today will hopefully inspire some humility from the Department of Justice and the Army Corps, who seem to want to hide behind legal motions rather than accept responsibility for their actions. I commend Attorney General Stenehjem for his leadership in achieving this important development and will keep working with him, Senator Hoeven, Congressman Armstrong, and the Trump Administration to finally achieve justice for North Dakota.”
