DEVILS LAKE, ND – U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND) a Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC) member, met with members of the North Dakota National Guard (NDNG) yesterday and received a briefing on NDNG issues and priorities from Adjutant General Al Dohrmann at Camp Grafton, an Army National Guard Training Center.

“I never cease being impressed by just how good our Guard is. Yesterday’s briefing was thorough, professional, and inspiring. Every crisis - local to global - is met by North Dakota National Guardsmen with remarkable professionalism and patriotism,” said Senator Cramer. “Perhaps no crisis in North Dakota’s history better illustrates this point than the Guard’s response to the call to combat COVID-19. They are as heroic as anyone on the front lines of this fight! Making sure they have the resources they need to do their job is a top priorityThanks to Adjutant General Dohrmann for giving me and Congressman Armstrong an update on the Guard’s activities and their vision for the future.”

The NDNG briefing involved combating COVID-19, improving training for soldiers, and plans for expansion. It came in lieu of the NDNG’s yearly Legislative Event, which was cancelled due to the pandemic.
