WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND), a Senate Banking Committee member, met with Visa CEO and Chairman Alfred Kelly, Jr. recently to discuss the impact of COVID-19 on small businesses, as well as the importance of high speed rural broadband for education and North Dakota communities.

“Efforts to manage COVID-19 last year greatly harmed our small businesses. Mr. Kelly and I discussed helping our rural America work out of the hole created by the pandemic while utilizing the new virtual and ecommerce opportunities we bolstered during it,” said Senator Cramer. “Expanding high speed rural broadband access is key to that effort, helping small towns, students, and business owners thrive in the 21st century. I appreciate Mr. Kelly making the time to discuss these issues and share his perspective.”

Their conversation follows similar meetings Senator Cramer has hosted with JP Morgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon, Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon, Wells Fargo President and CEO Charlie Scharf, and Citigroup CEO Jane Fraser this month.
