BISMARCK — U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND) announced today the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) granted $307,062 to the Tri-Valley Opportunity Council through the Senior Corps Senior Companion Program grant competition.

The Senior Companion Program (SCP) engages adults age 55 and over to help other older adults - most of whom are homebound - live fuller, more independent lives. The Senior Corps volunteers provide companionship and assistance with daily tasks, and give respite to family caregivers. As a result, seniors are able to maintain their independence longer, allowing them to age in place, and their caregivers are able to take time to recharge.
