WASHINGTON — U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND) announced the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) approved two grants totaling $1,240,461 to the North Dakota State Department of Agriculture and North Dakota Department of Health. The funds are provided by cooperative agreements which were implemented on July 1, 2019.
The North Dakota State Department of Agriculture received $176,829 to enhance produce safety in preparation of implementation of FDA’s rule: standards for the growing, harvesting, packing, and holding of produce for human consumption.
The North Dakota Department of Health received $1,063,632 for their Hospital Preparedness Program (HPP). HPP promotes a sustained national focus to improve patient outcomes by minimizing the need for supplemental state and federal resources during emergencies and enabling rapid recoveries.
