BISMARCK – U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND), a Senate Banking Committee member, delivered the keynote address this morning at the annual Eide Bailly Bank Seminar.

“Congress has work it needs to do to help our nation’s bankers, and tackling those issues is a high priority for me over the next several months,” said Senator Cramer. “I’m grateful to Eide Bailly and its clients for letting me speak with them today and for being strong and consistent partners who offer invaluable and innovate insight into how Congress can better assist their important industry.”

Senator Cramer’s remarks focused on efforts to advance regulatory relief and reform the bureaucracy, such as his legislation to streamline Paycheck Protection Program loan forgiveness for small businesses and his work to repeal Current Expected Credit Losses (CECL) regulations. The senator also gave his thoughts on yesterday’s election results and shared his outlook for the priorities and agenda of the next Congress.

The seminar included the 500 Eide Bailly employees, as well as 400 of their clients from across as many as 14 states. Senator Cramer fielded questions on banking issues impacting the agriculture and energy industries in North Dakota and the potential for a new COVID-19 relief package.
