WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND) issued the following statement after the Senate rejected Democrats’ efforts to repeal 1332 State Innovation Waivers which allow states to waive certain provisions of Obamacare:

“Fortunately, reason prevailed today. This was a reckless political stunt by Senate Democrats and I am glad to see it fail. The 1332 waivers provide states like North Dakota the flexibility they need to increase choice and lower cost, resulting in an expected 20% decline in premiums for our state. If Democrats want to have a serious debate on health care, they should put the theatrics aside and work with us on areas both sides can agree.”
