WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND), a member of the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee, issued the following statement after voting to confirm Congresswoman Marcia Fudge as U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) today:

“A roof over our heads is something we often take for granted, but many people in North Dakota – including Native Americans both on and off the reservations – face unique housing challenges that require unique housing solutions. I served with Congresswoman Fudge in the House of Representatives, and I have appreciated her outreach and willingness to learn more about the issues affecting our state during her confirmation process. I look forward to partnering with her as we seek to improve the quality of life for all North Dakotans.”

Senator Cramer spoke with Congresswoman Fudge in January about housing needs in North Dakota. They served together in the House of Representatives from 2013 to 2019.
