WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND), a Senate Budget Committee member, issued the following statement on the Senate confirming Russ Vought as Director of the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) today:

 

“Mr. Vought has been responsive and attentive to the needs of North Dakotans, both as the Acting Director of OMB and throughout his confirmation progress. I appreciate his commitment to address issues impacting our energy and agricultural producers, and I look forward to working with him as OMB Director to bring them to fruition.”

 

During his nomination hearing, Senator Cramer applauded Mr. Vought’s work in helping advance the Administration’s proposed rule on how to utilize 45Q carbon capture credits. The Senator also spoke to him about regulatory concerns expressed by North Dakotans to OMB regarding bureaucrats in the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) ignoring planting violation regulations.
