WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND) announced today he will serve as the Ranking Member on the Senate Environment and Public Works (EPW) Subcommittee on Transportation and Infrastructure during the 117th Congress.

“It is past time Congress stopped viewing infrastructure as a talking point and started treating it as the national priority it is,” said Senator Cramer. “I look forward to working with Chairman Cardin and my colleagues in both parties to use this subcommittee as an avenue to craft a bipartisan infrastructure package that sets partisan theatrics aside and delivers a significant, unifying win for the American people.”

The Transportation and Infrastructure subcommittee has jurisdiction over issues involving U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) water projects and management, regional economic development, as well as highway programs. Last month, Senator Cramer wrote an op-ed offering a blueprint for a bipartisan highway bill and spoke during an EPW hearing on transportation about ensuring any future legislation properly allocates resources and includes sufficient funding mechanisms.

Senator Cramer will also serve on the Fisheries, Water, and Wildlife Subcommittee – which he chaired last Congress – and the Air Subcommittee, giving him congressional oversight over several federal agencies North Dakotans routinely deal with, including the Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
