WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator and Senate Veterans Affairs (VA) Committee member Kevin Cramer (R-ND) issued the following statement today on the U.S. Senate unanimously passing the “Blue Water Navy Vietnam Veterans Act,” a bill provide Vietnam veterans who served offshore and were presumed to have been exposed to Agent Orange with necessary health care benefits:

“All who risked their lives in the Vietnam war deserve to be honored and given access to the care and benefits they need. This bill rectifies a decades-old injustice against our veterans, and I look forward to working with the VA to ensure this new policy is implemented quickly and properly.”

After unanimously passing the House and Senate, the bill now goes to President Trump his signature. The legislation follows a recent decision by a federal court to allow Navy veterans who served offshore in Vietnam to be eligible for benefits.
