WASHINGTON — U.S. Senator and Environment and Public Works (EPW) committee member Kevin Cramer (R-ND) issued the following statement on the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) proposal regarding the E15 waiver and RIN market transparency:

“This is good news for North Dakota’s corn and ethanol producers. I have always advocated for reducing regulation that prohibits market demand when there is no reason for it. Just as President Trump directed, this proposal allows gasoline blended with up to 15 percent ethanol to take advantage of the 1-psi Reid Vapor Pressure waiver during the summer months. The EPA is also proposing modifications to the renewable identification number (RIN) market to improve  transparency and impede price manipulation. I look forward to reviewing these proposals and working with local stakeholders to get the best outcome possible for North Dakota.”

Senator Cramer previously addressed this issue with Administrator Wheeler during his confirmation. More information on the proposed rule can be found here on the EPA website.
