WASHINGTON — U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND) issued the following statement after the Senate voted against the Democrats’ Green New Deal:
“The future can be bright if both sides embrace an all-the-above energy strategy- harnessing everything from wind, solar and gas to oil, coal and nuclear power. Divided government presents an opportunity to advance common energy interests, like incentivizing private innovators to develop the technology of tomorrow. Today’s bipartisan rejection of the extreme ideas found in the Green New Deal- like eliminating fossil fuels- is a positive sign, and I hope to work collaboratively with my Democratic colleagues to advance pragmatic energy solutions.”
