WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND) issued the following statement today after meeting with Lieutenant General Todd Semonite, Major General General Scott Spellmon, and other leaders of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE):

“I and these Army Corps leaders discussed recent updates on border wall construction, permanent flooding relief for Fargo and Minot, North Dakota’s claim filed under the Federal Tort Claims Act regarding the Dakota Access Pipeline protests, and Select Energy Services’ application for increased volumes of water for fracking."

“The federal government has become an overblown bureaucracy, and the priorities of states like North Dakota often fall victim to its slow and arduous procedures. I pressed the Army Corps to streamline their processes to ensure they no longer inhibit projects from being completed, the southern border from being secured, or our energy needs from being met. I further committed to using my position in the United States Senate to continue combatting this excessive bureaucracy.
