WASHINGTON—U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND) issued the following statement regarding tonight’s vote on S. 109:

“It’s disappointing that the Senate did not vote to advance this piece of legislation. I co-sponsored this bill in order to protect the taxpayer from funding the abortion industry. The right to life is a critical issue facing our nation, and we have to learn to prioritize it in our own parties and work across the aisle. I and my like-minded colleagues will continue to fight to see that this, and other pro-life bills, pass in the Senate.”

Senator Cramer is a co-sponsor of S. 109, a bill to prohibit taxpayer-funded abortions. A long-defender of the rights of the unborn, Senator Cramer addressed this issue on the Senate floor earlier this week.
