WASHINGTON — U.S. Senator and member of the Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC) Kevin Cramer (R-ND) discussed his recent North Dakota Military Tour at a SASC hearing with U.S. Air Force General John E. Hyten, who praised North Dakota’s Air Force bases.
Senator Cramer: “Since we talked I have completed my tour of bases in North Dakota, I went to all of them. And while Minot and Grand Forks were grateful, Cavalier was especially grateful that you asked specifically about them. It was very encouraging. I will tell you: I’m very new to this committee as you know, and I’ve sat through enough briefings that have made me adequately frightened. But I feel much better having gone to the bases, including our National Guard, ISR, and global hawk bases.”
General Hyten: “Senator, thanks for going to Minot, Cavalier, and Grand Forks. They’re pretty special places; and when you see the people, you should feel very, very good about this country. They’re amazing people.”
