WASHINGTON—U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND) announced Michael Canzone will be joining his office today as a Congressional Fellow to help cover Senate Armed Services Committee issues.
“Serving on the Senate Armed Services Committee presents an opportunity to give North Dakota’s military community, like those at the Minot and Grand Forks bases or in the National Guard, a voice on the issues that directly impact them,” said Senator Cramer. “Michael brings a wealth of experience that will help our team deliver the maximum benefit to our state’s men and women in uniform.”
Since 2003, Michael Canzone has been an officer in the United States Navy and the United States Naval Reserve and has been selected for promotion to the rank of Commander. He is a Naval Flight Officer with combat experience flying the F/A-18F Super Hornet, and has also served as a Staff Officer at the Pentagon and the F-35 Joint Program Office. He most recently served as the Electronic Warfare Officer on a Joint Special Operations Task Force. Michael holds a Masters in Policy Management from Georgetown University and a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College.
Michael joins Senator Cramer’s offices as part of the Nuclear Security Working Group congressional fellowship program, funded by the MacArthur Foundation, that places eight national security experts as staffers in the House and Senate for a full calendar year.
