WASHINGTON — U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND) issued the following statement today regarding U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Secretary Sonny Perdue’s announcement that all Farm Service Agency (FSA) offices will reopen to provide additional administrative services during the shutdown.

“Once again, Secretary Perdue is finding ways to provide relief to our farmers and ranchers who are hurt by Democrats’ refusal to reopen the government,” said Sen. Cramer. “While President Trump and Republicans in Congress continue to work to fund the government, our agricultural community will now have more stability and peace of mind, even during this partial shutdown, and I commend the administration for making them a priority.”

USDA previously announced it would open selected offices from the 17th through the 23rd of January. Now, all FSA offices will open and will provide more services. In addition to the office openings, Secretary Perdue also announced the deadline to apply for the Market Facilitation Program has been extended to February 14th, an extension of the original deadline of January 15th.
