WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND), a Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC) member, tonight blocked a political messaging amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) offered by Senator Jeff Merkley (D-OR) from passing by unanimous consent.
Senator Cramer delivered floor remarks objecting to the amendment.
“Tonight I objected to Senate Democrats once again trying to exploit violence in the streets for political gain. They don't want solutions, they want to defeat President Trump,” said Senator Cramer. “If they're looking to debate police reform, they shouldn't have blocked Senator Tim Scott's JUSTICE Act.”
