WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND) announced today Fort Berthold Community College received $220,000 from of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA).
This grant will be used for a project entitled, “Regenerative Agriculture: Diverse Year-Round Cover Crops and Intensive Grazing Effect on Soil Health for Local Food Production" which aims to help investigate soil health and its effects on resilience, nutrition content, and profitability in North Dakota’s vegetable production systems. The funds are made available through NIFA’s Tribal College Research Program.
