WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND), a Senate Environment and Public Works (EPW) Committee member, issued the following statement on Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Andrew Wheeler appointing North Dakota’s Dennis Haugen to the EPA’s Farm, Ranch, and Rural Communities Committee (FRRCC):

“Congratulations to Dennis on this appointment and thanks to Administrator Wheeler for making an excellent pick. I recommended Dennis because he understands the needs of North Dakota’s agricultural community, and I know he will represent our state well.”

Dennis Haugen, from Hannaford, runs Dennis Haugen Farms and is President of the North Dakota Grain Growers Association. Senator Cramer wrote a letter of support for Mr. Haugen’s appointment.

Established in 2008, the FRRCC provides independent policy advice, information, and recommendations to the EPA administrator on a range of environmental issues and policies that are of importance to agriculture and rural communities.
