WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND) announced today the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) awarded two grants totaling $82,097 to North Dakota State University (NDSU).

 

  • The first AFRI competitive grant of $49,250 was awarded to fund the project entitled “Indirect calorimetry equipment to enhance multidisciplinary research, teaching, and extension programs on beef cattle production systems.” Read details here.
  • The second AFRI competitive grant of $32,847 was awarded to fund the project entitled “Strengthening research infrastructure through establishing analytical capability for B-complex vitamins in animal sciences.” Read details here.

 

These investments were made through NIFA’s Agriculture and Food Research Initiative (AFRI), which is a competitive grant program that provides research, education, and extension grants to improve rural economies, increase food production, and train the next generation of agricultural workforce.
