BISMARCK – U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND) announced today the National Science Foundation (NSF) awarded $2,500,000 to the Nueta Hidatsa Sahnish College (NHSC) to support their Full-Circle Engineering Center of Excellence. The Full-Circle Engineering Center of Excellence serves the engineering needs of the Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara (MHA) Nation.

This investment is approved through the NSF Division of Human Resource Development and the Directorate for Education and Human Resources. Nueta Hidatsa Sahnish College will establish an academic and professional pathway to increase the number of engineers from the Three Affiliated Tribes. A goal of the Tribal Colleges and Universities Program (TCUP) is to increase the intellectual leadership of Tribal Colleges so that they can address the scientific and engineering needs of their tribal communities and, more broadly, the entire Nation. This project aligns with that goal, and will impact the economic strength of the MHA Nation by fostering new STEM employment opportunities. Click here to read more about this project.
