WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator and Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC) member Kevin Cramer (R-ND) issued the following statement regarding President Donald Trump nominating U.S. Representative John Ratcliffe (R-TX) to be Director of National Intelligence (DNI) after Director Dan Coats announced his resignation:
“I want to thank Director Coats for his service. The world became a safer place because of him. I now look forward to working with Rep. Ratcliffe, if he is confirmed. Having served together in the House, I believe John would be a capable leader in our intelligence community who would speak truth to power. I am glad the President nominated him, and I plan to monitor his confirmation process closely as it moves forward.”
