WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND) issued the following statement after President Donald Trump announced a new trade truce with China:

“Over the weekend, President Trump announced he will forego increasing tariffs and China will make significant purchases of our agricultural products. China also made its largest purchase of U.S. soybeans since March. As the President noted, the United States should not sacrifice a quality deal for an expedient one, and, unfortunately, no deal with China is ever over until it’s over. Their bad faith negotiating repeatedly interferes with reaching a deal. I applaud the President for bringing the Chinese back to the table and working on behalf of our producers, and I urge him and his administration to keep working toward a deal that benefits our country both now and for generations to come.”
